October Nonprofit of the Month: Maryland Hunger Solutions

Posted by Angela Tsay on

We’re really excited to announce that our October Nonprofit of the Month is Maryland Hunger Solutions!

Maryland Hunger Solutions’ mission is to end hunger, improve nutrition, and promote the well-being of Marylanders in need through education, advocacy, outreach, and collaboration. To accomplish this goal, they work to expand use of the federal nutrition programs (the Food Supplement Program, or FSP, known federally as SNAP/food stamps; school lunch and breakfast; afterschool, summer, and child care meals; and the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children) by engaging in public education, research and information dissemination, networking, training, technical assistance, outreach efforts, and advocacy. They seek to promote best practices to increase participation, to ensure that the federal nutrition program are fully implemented, to research and analyze the extent of hunger and food hardship, to raise awareness through education and outreach, and to advocate for needed policy changes to better serve those in need.

During the entire month of October, therethere will be donating 10% of all our web sales to Maryland Hunger Solutions in order to continue their work around food access and education. Contribute today!
