January Nonprofit of the Month: Alameda County Community Food Bank

May 10, 2016

We’re back again and looking to start 2015 off right! Each December, our sister company Oaklandish partners with Alameda County Community Food Bank (ACCFB) to donate the proceeds of their holiday gift box sales to this great organization. We figured that we should just keep the holiday cheer going and make ACCFB our Nonprofit of the Month!

Alameda County Community Food Bank serves one in five Alameda County residents. Children and seniors make up two-thirds of the 116,000 people they serve each month. This year, they will distribute the equivalent of 30 million meals; additionally, over half of the food they distribute is in the form of farm-fresh fruits and vegetables. For every $1 donated, ACCFB distributes $6 worth of food and $0.95 of every dollar goes to programming. For these reasons, and many others, they are ranked among the top 1% of charities nationwide, as rated by Charity Navigator.

Shop neverelsewhere.com through January 31st and 10% of your purchase will be donated to ACCFB to support their work!
