Last week, Katie Crutchfield, known better by her stage name, Waxahatchee, played an acoustic solo show at The Chapel, in San Francisco’s Mission District. The set started with a track off her debut album, American Weekend, a slow, lo-fi breakup album, filled with poignant, clever lyrics, that has since become an indie classic. As the concert went on, Crutchfield played a combination of songs from her latest two albums, Cerulean Salt and Ivy Tripp, as well as a few gems from her old band, P.S. Elliot. Even though the show was sold out, it still felt intimate and special, almost like a performance from one of her early house shows.
