The Golden Gate Park Bison are a San Francisco institution. In 1890, one bison cow and one bull were hauled westward across the Great Plains to their new home in Golden Gate Park. Since that fabled day the bison wander Spreckels Meadow, just another quirky addition to the City. Stop by the paddock for a glimpse of a living memory of the old Wild West.
